Robert Barlow - Coach of the Year Award
Submitted By pwiesner on Thursday, July 27, 2017
Now accepting nominations!

The BMBA is proud to introduce the 1st Annual "ROBERT BARLOW" Memorial Award for COACH OF THE YEAR, as nominated by players and parents of our association.

Robert Barlow was a passionate baseball advocate re-introducing baseball into the Binbrook area in 2006 after many years of absence.  Robert was the Canadian Commissioner of Babe Ruth Baseball, a HWDSB Trustee and an avid volunteer in many children's educational and sporting avenues.  It is with great honour that we honour Robert with the name sake of this first year award.

Being a coach is one thing... being a great coach is a far different calling!  A great coach is a person that players and parents alike will remember for many years and aspire to be like when their time to coach comes calling.  A great coach is a person who can get the players excited to come to the ball park, cheer in good times and bad and most importantly be able to teach the kids both the skill set to be better ball players as well as team mates that cherish their time together.

We ask any nominations for this years award to be directed to [email protected]

Along with the name of the nominated coach, we ask if you feel this coach should be honoured with this award, to share a short story of an event that may have changed several players out look on the game of baseball.

Nominations for this award will close on Monday August 7th at 4pm.  Nominated coaches will be presented to the Executive Board members who will vote on a winner, with the award being presented on closing day.

Good luck to all and look forward to hearing some great coaching stories.
